Item Title:Approve and authorize the Board of County Commissioner’s Chairman to execute the Grant Agreement with SJRWMD to fund phase 8 of Thomas Creek Restoration

Background:

At the October 10, 2016 meeting, the Board authorized the submission of a grant application to St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) for the REDI Community & Innovative Projects Cost-Share Program for the Thomas Creek Restoration project, Phase 8. At the December 13, 2016 SJRWMD Board meeting, the Governing Board selected the Thomas Creek Restoration Project Phase 8 for cost share funding. Attached is the cost sharing agreement with the St. Johns River Water Management District for $500,000, which is 100% of the construction amount of the project.

Request:
Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign a Cost Share Agreement with St. Johns River Water Management District, Contract No. CM2411, for Rural Economic Development Initiative (REDI) Funding for Phase 8 of the Thomas Creek De-snagging Project.
Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:
Cost of County staff to perform CEI services during construction.
