Date:2/27/2017
Department:County Manager's Office
Background:

An Emergency Purchase can be approved by the County Manager if there is an immediate danger to public health, safety or welfare or threat of substantial loss to the County. An Emergency Purchase form must be submitted by the Department Head to be approved by the County Manager. Section 4.4(b) of the Nassau County Purchasing Policy states that the County Manager must notify the Board at the next meeting.

On February 8th, a sink hole developed on Amelia Island Parkway between Arbor Drive and Sable Palm Road due to damage to a sewer line. The road collapsed and an opening of over five feet deep developed. NAU put a steel traffic plate over the hole so that traffic could continue while they waited for a contractor to access the situation. JB Coxwell Contracting, Inc. was ultimately hired and made repairs to the pipe on February 9th at an estimated cost of $16,358.91
