The North Florida Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) has requested that Nassau County update our priorities that are part of the Year 2040 Long Range Transportation Plan. A copy of the 2016 List of Priority Projects is included with this agenda request. The projects Nassau County currently has included in the TPO Priority Project List are:
Region Wide Priority Projects (Page 6 & 7)
· SR 200/SR A1A I-95 to Amelia River Bridge Intersection Improvements. This project is the result of a study the TPO did for Nassau County on the SR 200 corridor. The Commission accepted the study in summer of 2013. A copy of the study is available in the Engineering Services Department.
· US 17 From the Duval Line to Harts Road- This would be for intersection/operational improvements.
· SR 115 Lem Turner Road – Widening from 2 to 4 lanes from US 1 in Callahan to I 295.
· SR 200/SR AIA-6 Laning of SR 200 from I-95 to the Amelia River Bridge-Some portions are currently under construction, but the project will remain on the list until all segments are under construction.
On Port Priority Projects-Port of Fernandina (page 16)
· Pier Rehabilitation
· Grain Bin or Silo
Freight Priority Projects (page 17)
· An overpass for the railroad crossing at US 301 and Crawford Road.
· Port of Fernandina access improvements.
Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) (page 19)
· The Amelia Island Parkway Multiuse Trail (Phase II).
Transportation Alternative Funding Priorities/School Safety Sidewalks (page 20)
· Sidewalk improvements near Fernandina Beach Middle/High School.
Sun Trail Projects (page 21)
· Amelia Island Trail Phase 2 and Phase 3.
Context Sensitive Solutions/Complete Street Priorities (page 23).
· SR A1A/Duval County Line to Georgia State Line.
· Amelia Island Parkway South 14th Street to Buccaneer Trail (CR 105A).
