Item Title:Consideration to Approve Memorandum of Understanding with JEA for Utility Work at the Intersection of Chester Road and Pages Dairy Road

Background:

JEA has requested Nassau County to approve a Memorandum of Understanding for the design and construction of the Chester Road and Pages Dairy Road Intersection improvements project for the water main work, Contract No.CM3265.

The Memorandum of Understanding requires Nassau County to amend the Chester Road- Pages Dairy Intersection Improvement design contract with Connelly & Wicker (CM2371-A10) and include the water main design work.  JEA will be responsible for all design costs associated with the incorporation of the water main design.
 
JEA and Nassau County will each have their own contract for CEI Services and Construction, which will include each agency being responsible for its respective costs for services and equipment.  Administration of contracts will also be conducted separately.

Request:
Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign the Memorandum of Understanding with JEA for the intersection improvement design and construction of the Chester Road and Pages Dairy Road Intersection – JEA Reclaimed Water & Force Mains, Contract No. CM3265.
Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:
Approving the Memorandum of Understanding allows JEA improvements and intersection improvements to be completed concurrently.  
Action Requested and Recommendation:
Approve the Memorandum of Understanding with JEA for the intersection improvement design and construction of the Chester Road and Pages Dairy Road Intersection – JEA Reclaimed Water & Force Mains, Contract No. CM3265 and authorize the Chairman to sign the Memorandum of Understanding.
