Background:
On December 17, 2001, the Nassau County Board of County Commissioners and JEA entered into an Interlocal Agreement, Contract No. CM1984 for water and wastewater services. Both the County and JEA wish to amend Section 9 of CM1984 in order to provide moving forward, JEA will pay to the County on an annual basis, five percent (5%) of its revenue derived from the sale of water and wastewater within the county during the previous year. JEA approved this amendment at their October 25, 2022.
Request:
Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign Contract No. CM1984-A1 with JEA to amend Section 9, Annual Contributions to the County by JEA, of the Interlocal Agreement.
Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:
Nassau County and its residents will benefit from revenue from JEA water and wastewater sales within the County. There is not a negative budgetary impact to this amendment.
Action Requested and Recommendation:
