| | | | | | | | | Background: | First Coast Crime Stoppers, Inc., in a non-profit, civilian volunteer program formed in 2002 to better serve citizens on the First Coast in the fight against crime. Florida Statutes, Chapter 16.555 allows the organization to apply to the Attorney General for grant funds to administer the program, however a Letter of Authorization is needed from the local governing body. Funds collected are deposited into the "Crime Stoppers Trust Fund" and are used for crime prevention programs, including paying rewards for tips leading to arrests.
