| | | | | | | | | Background: | On February 16, 2023, bids were received in response to Invitation to Bid NC23-012 for Mowing Services, which was comprised of 4 items:
- Item #1: Amelia Island Mowing Services
- Item #2: Amelia Island Parkway Mowing Services
- Item #3: High Pedestrian Areas Mowing Services
- Item #4: Amelia Concourse Landscape Maintenance Mowing Services
Freedom Landscape and Lawn Maintenance Inc. was awarded Items #1, #2, and #3 as the first and second lowest bidder withdrew their bids. Freedom Landscape and Lawn Maintenance Inc., has been unable to fulfill the terms of the contract and as a result, their contract was terminated effective September 22, 2023. Staff reached out to the next lowest bidder and they did not feel like they could take on the work. Staff reached out to the last bidder, North Florida Lawn Maintenance, Inc., and they are willing to take on the three additional mowing zones. Staff recommends award of Contract No. CM3493 to North Florida Lawn Maintenance, Inc., in a total not to exceed amount of $683,000.00. | | Request: | Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign Contract No. CM3493 with North Florida Lawn Maintenance, Inc., for Amelia Island, Amelia Island Parkway and High Pedestrian Mowing Services, and Amelia Concourse Landscape Maintenance Mowing Services, in an amount not to exceed $683,000. | | Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens: | Without these Mowing Services Contracts, citizens of Nassau County will not be provided with an appropriate level of mowing maintenance throughout the County.
