Item Title:Interlocal Agreement between the Nassau County BOCC and City of Fernandina Beach for Beach and Beach Park Restroom Cleaning Reimbursement

Background:

Upon recommendation of the Amelia Island Tourist Development Council (AITDC), the Board of County Commissioners currently provides for the cleaning of beaches, including trash removes, and beach park restroom shower and cleaning services using Tourist Development Tax dollars.  The Board of County Commissioners and the City of Fernandina Beach wish to maintain these services through the current fiscal year 2022-2023 and into future fiscal years as funding allows from Tourist Development Tax dollars and as approved in the annual AITDC budget.

 

For consideration by the BOCC, is an Interlocal Agreement providing for payment for beach and beach park restroom cleaning from Tourist Development Tax dollars through either direct pay to vendors or reimbursement to the City for vendor expenses.

Request:
Approve an Interlocal Agreement between the Board of County Commissioners and the City of Fernandina Beach for Reimbursement for Beach and Beach Park Restroom Cleaning.
Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:
Beach and beach park facility restroom cleaning services will provide the citizens with safe and clean  restroom facilities at beach locations.  TDT funds are generated by a 5% tax on short term accommodations on Amelia Island and are not part of ad valorem tax revenue.

Approve an Interlocal Agreement between the Board of County Commissioners and the City of Fernandina Beach for Reimbursement for Beach and Beach Park Restroom Cleaning.
