The Equitable Sharing Agreement, entered into among (1) the Federal Government, (2) the Agency, and (3) the Agency's governing body, sets forth the requirements for participation in the federal Equitable Sharing Program and restrictions upon the use of federally forfeited funds, property, and any interest earned thereon, which are equitably shared with participating law enforcement agencies.
Annually, the Nassau County Sheriff's Office must submit an Equitable Sharing Agreement and Certification, signed by the Board of County Commissioners, as the governing body that the Sheriff's Office operates within, to remain in compliance. A signature is required by both the Agency Head and Governing Body Head agreeing to these requirements and restrictions, and therefore affirming the proper allocations and expenditures were completed in the most recent fiscal year.
The Equitable Sharing Agreement and Certification is for the period ending September 30, 2022. The Agreement and Certification is due by November 30, 2023. |
