Background:

The Nassau County Sheriffs Office is requesting to remove $20,000.00 from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund to replenish investigative funds for the Narcotics Unit. These funds are used to support undercover operations that combat illegal narcotics throughout Nassau County.

 

Pursuant to Florida State Statute 932.7055(5)(b), the money from this account can be used"... only for school resource officer, crime prevention, safe neighborhood, drug abuse education, or drug prevention programs or such other law enforcement purposes as the board of county commissioners or governing body of the municipality deems appropriate." Please accept this letter as certification that this request meets local, state, and federal guidelines.

 

The Sheriff is requesting that the County approve the use of $20,000.00 for NCSO to replenish investigative funds for the Narcotics Unit.
