| | | | | | | | | Background: | | In March 2020, the Board of County Commissioners entered into a Local Agency Program (LAP) Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in the amount of $1,079,623.00 for the CEI and Construction of safety improvements on Amelia Island Parkway – Phase 4 Improvements. The agreement is scheduled to expire on December 31, 2026. FDOT is requesting Nassau County sign the SUN Trail Agreement for the Construction and CEI of the Amelia Island Parkway Trail from SR 200 (8th Street) to Bailey Road. | | Request: | Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign the Resolution authorizing the execution of the Suntrail Agreement Contract No. CM3607, with Florida Department of Transportation, for the Construction and CEI of the Amelia Island Parkway Trail from SR A1A (8th Street) to Bailey Road. | | Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens: | | The AIT Phase 4 is the final 3 miles of the Island system's primary 17 mile north-south trail spine to develop a safe and viable nonvehicular transportation system in the form of a shared use path network that runs from the southern tip of the Island to downtown Fernandina Beach on the north end of the Island.
