Item Title:Recommendation for Award/Execution of Contract CM3595 Furnish and Delivery of Road Base Materials – Crushed Concrete and Asphalt Millings

Background:

On August 25, 2023 Nassau County released Invitation to Bid NC23-050 to Furnish and Deliver Road Base Materials – Crushed Concrete and Asphalt Millings. The Procurement Department through PlanetBids and DemandStar, reached out to 1,161 vendors. One bid was submitted by the bid due date, October 4, 2023 from Tim-Prep, Inc. Staff reviewed the  bid received and recommends Tim-Prep, Inc. be awarded the contract to  Furnish and Deliver Road Base Materials.

Request:
Consider the following: 1) Award Invitation to Bid NC23-050 to Tim-Prep, Inc. to Furnish and Deliver Road Base Materials – Crushed Concrete and Asphalt Millings; 2)  Authorize the Chairman to sign Contract No. CM3595 with Tim-Prep, Inc. to Furnish and Deliver Road Base Materials – Crushed Concrete and Asphalt Millings in an amount not to exceed $900,000 per year for the initial contract term with four (4) 1-year renewal options also not to exceed $900,000 per year.
Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:

This contract is needed to ensure the Road Department is able to purchase the necessary materials for roadway repairs in order to maintain safe roads for travel to our citizens.

Action Requested and Recommendation:
