Item Title:Approve and Authorize the Chairman to Sign the Drawdown Easement Agreement with JEA for the William Burgess Extension Project

Background:

The William Burgess Boulevard Extension project from US 17 to Miner Road was identified as a Mobility Project in the County's adopted Mobility Plan; a parallel route to SR 200 in the County's Comprehensive Plan, Future Transportation Map Series; and is a funded project in the County's Capital Improvement Plan. 

 

Design and land acquisition began in January of 2020 for the extension project. All of the needed lands were acquired by Summer of 2023.  The plans and permitting require the execution of this easement.  

 

The execution of this agreement will satisfy the outstanding St. Johns River Water Management District permitting requirements and allow the project to be bid for construction. 

Request:
Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign Contract No. CM3603, a Drawdown Easement Agreement with JEA for the William Burgess Extension project.
Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:
The construction of the William Burgess Extension will provide a parallel route to SR 200 and better connectivity between Miner Road and US 17.  
Action Requested and Recommendation:
Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign Contract No. CM3603, a Drawdown Easement Agreement with JEA for the William Burgess Extension project.
