| | | | | | | | | Background: | The Board of County Commissioners entered into Contract No. CM2811 with Beach Raker, LLC on February 10, 2020 for beach cleaning services. The contract provided for an initial performance period of March 1, 2020 through February 28, 2023 with the option to extend the performance period in one (1) year increments not to exceed two (2) year’s total. The first amendment, CM2811-A1 was executed February 27, 2023 to exercise the first extension of the contract for the performance period of March 1, 2023 through February 29, 2024.
Facilities Maintenance is recommending the contract be extended for the second and final one (1) year extension option and to increase the contract amount by $324,000 to continue the services provided by Beach Raker, LLC from March 1, 2024 through February 28, 2025. The increase of Amendment #2 results in an overall 5-year contract total of $1,620,000 | | Request: | | Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign Contract No. CM2811-A2 with Beach Raker, LLC in the amount of $324,000 for beach cleaning services at the County and City of Fernandina Beach beaches. | | Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens: | Continuing the beach cleaning services will provide the citizens and visitors with a safe and clean environment at beach locations. Funds for beach cleaning are provided by Tourist Development Tax dollars.
