In efforts to foster the ongoing growth and opportunity of the County's tourism industry, The Amelia Island Tourist Development Council (AITDC) embarked on a Countywide Destination and Community Enhancement Strategy on behalf of the Nassau County Board of County Commissioners. The report develops a Strategy that will provide the basis for current and future opportunities, as well as manage the current growth and explore potential destination and community enhancements and reinvestments across Nassau County.
Following the BOCC’s adoption of the Countywide Destination and Community Enhancement Strategy on Sept. 11, 2023, the CVB developed a new website (https://nassautourismworks.com/) to provide additional information on the benefits of tourism and additionally provide some answers to frequently asked questions about tourism and the impacts of any potential expansion.
Based on Countywide Destination and Community Enhancement Strategy, the Towns of Hilliard and Callahan have also recently adopted resolutions in support of the County expanding the tourism taxes countywide. |
