Item Title:Interlocal Agreement with City of FB re Collection of Transportation Mobility Fees

Background:

The Board of County Commissioners adopted Ordinance No. 2014-16, known as the Mobility Fee Ordinance, which imposes Mobility Fees on new construction and adopted a Mobility Fee Schedule. The City of Fernandina Beach and Nassau County have determined that it would be in the best interest of the citizens to coordinate efforts in planning and transportation needs of new development and have created an Interlocal Agreement which would authorize the City to collect Nassau County Transportation Mobility Fees on behalf of Nassau County when a project is within the City limits.

 

The City of Fernandina Beach adopted Resolution No. 2017-86, which approved the Interlocal Agreement. A signed copy of the Agreement has been provided to the County for execution. Both documents are attached.

 

Request:
Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign an Interlocal Agreement with the City of Fernandina Beach, Contract No. CM2316, regarding collection of Transportation Mobility Fees for projects within the City limits.
