The State of Florida, Division of Emergency Management posted two Notice of Availability of funds for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program funds for Hurricane Hermine (FEMA 4280-DR-FL) and Hurricane Matthew (FEMA 4283-DR-FL) for grant projects to implement measures to reduce or eliminate long term risk to people from natural hazards and their effects. Nassau County is eligible to apply as a Tier 2 project for Hurricane Hermine Funds and a Tier 1 project for Hurricane Matthew funds. Staff proposes to submit applications for signature by the County Manager for Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HGMP) funds, Hurricane Hermine and Hurricane Matthew for Thomas Creek Restoration Project, Phase 7A and 9 and Lofton Creek Restoration Project, Phase 1. One application for each project under each Notice of Availability, six applications total:
