BOCC AGENDA ITEM

Item Title:ATT circuit Upgrade for Bryceville locations
Date:9/25/2017
Department:Technical Services
Background:

Bryceville Library and Fire Station 60 are still on a very slow T1 connections.  They need to be moved to a faster solution.  Comcast would not install service in Bryceville, so this was not included in the recent upgrade, but was planned for with AT&T in this year's budget.

When the West Mims fire was threatening Bryceville and extra users were mobilizing to the site, slow network connectivity was quickly overloaded with extra first-responders and other support. This connection will be much harder to overwhelm.  The connection will cost about the same we are currently paying for the T1 connection, but it will be about 15 times faster.
