Staff has been working to reestablish the drainage at Clements Road. Staff has been working with Woodbridge on the possibility of establishing a swale into Woodbridge wetlands to assist with the drainage for Clements Road, and has received the attached letter Daniel McCranie, Managing Member of Woodbridge Nassau, LLC. The letter outlines the conditions that would allow Nassau County to discharge Clements Road drainage into Woodbridge.
To summarize, the conditions are:
-
Update the Woodbridge PUD and the St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) Permit. This will be completed by Woodbridge with funds from Nassau County.
-
Increase internal piping and culverts in Woodbridge.
-
Swale construction to connect Clements Road to Woodbridge.
The estimated cost to the County for the improvements listed above is $20,600.
SJRWMD application fee and permit $7,000
Storm drain piping estimate 1,600
50% of swale construction 12,000
Staff recommends that the Board discuss the offer from Woodbridge Nassau, LLC on the conditions to obtain a right of entry to allow the drainage ditch from Clements Road, and should the Board decide to move forward approve the use of funds from within the Engineering Services budget.
