Michael and Gayla Reed, with their Son and his wife, Michael and Katherine Reed, are petitioning for relief from hardship development, or a Family Hardship Development, pursuant to 99-18, as amended. The property they are looking to divide is approximately 36 acres, east of Hilliard off N Kings Road/US HWY 1. The property was split once, by the Parent Tract Provision, to allow a family friend to live close by. They are now seeking to further divide the property between father and son. Going through the regular subdivision regulations of 99-18 would place upon them the undue hardship to transfer land from father to son.
The two lots that are going to be created meet the minimum lot size for the Open Rural zoning district. The family is creating a 60' easement to allow access to both parcels. |
