Background:

Various text amendments to the 2030 Comprehensive Plan that include:

  • Add language to provide for interlocal agreements between adjacent local governments regarding airport zoning regulations. (pursuant to Sec. 163.3177(6)(h)1.d., F.S.)Add criteria to the future land use element that will be used to achieve compatibility of lands near public use airports (pursuant to Sec. 163.3177(6)(a), F.S.) Add provision that after July 1, 2014, The County may not amend its comprehensive plan, land use map, zoning districts, or land use regulations to conflict with a fuel terminal’s classification as a permitted and allowable use, or that causes a fuel terminal to be a nonconforming use (pursuant to Sec. 163.3206(3), F.S.)
  • Remove additional 25ft setback requirement for properties with frontage on SR200/A1A.
  • Add definitions for neighborhood, community and regional parks matching new impact fee ordinance (2016-02)
  • Add text and map establishing new William Burgess Mixed-Use Activity Center Overlay District
Request:
Consideration of CPA17-003, an Ordinance of the Board of County Commissioners of Nassau County, Florida, amending the 2030 Nassau County Comprehensive Plan; amending the Recreation and Open Space, Regional Coordination, Future Land Use, and Capital Improvements Elemenst; amending the Future Land Use Map Series (FLUMS); establishing the William Burgess Mixed Use Activity Center Overlay District; providing for severability; and providing an effective date.
