In 2015, the Amelia Island Tourist Development Council hosted the first holiday lighting program which consisted of wrapping all the trees and rooflines on Centre Street with classic white lights. They hosted the event in 2016 and will be hosting it again in 2017. The TDC has hired We Decorate of Jacksonville to install and remove the lights on participating buildings. Installation will begin the week of October 30th and will be removed the week of January 2nd. We Decorate will utilize a cherry picker machine to access the rooftops. They have indicated that a magnetic plate consisting of removable silicone will be used to attach the lights.
In order to participate, each property owner had to sign an authorization form. The County Manager's Office contacted Facilities Maintenance and Judge Foster to ensure they didn't have any issues with the TDC's request. Per her contract, the County Manager is authorized to sign documents as owner on behalf of the Board. Ms. Jones signed the authorization form and returned it to the TDC so we can participate in the program. There is no cost to the County for participating. |
