Item Title:Tethering Status Update

Background:

On May 22, 2017, the Board amended the Animal Control Ordinance to include language that an animal cannot be tethered for more than twelve (12) hours in a twenty-four (24) hour period. The Board directed Animal Control Director, Tim Maguire, to provide them with an update every 3 months.

 

Tim Maguire will be presenting statistics which include the number of complaints received since May 22, 2017, the date of the complaint, the owner name and address, the responding officer, and the outcome.

 

Please note that each owner was provided educational materials about tethering, a copy of the County's Tethering Ordinance, and a pamphlet containing tethering alternatives.
