| | | | | | | | | Background: | This is an amendment to the PUD/DRI known as the Fernandina International Tradeplex, adopted in Ordinances 89-7 and subsequently amended in Ordinances 90-3, and 95-04. An 8.5 acre parcel was added by resolution to the PUD/DRI in 2010, where the Science First facility was constructed. The original ordinance indicated that a core PUD/DRI was created consisting of approximately 70 acres. The original ordinance also stated that the surrounding 300 acres would be included in the 70 acre PUD/DRI if a certain condition were met. The condition in question was based on the ownership of the 300 acres, specifically, if the Ocean Highway and Port Authority purchased the land, which it has not done. The language regarding the 300 acres was not amended by subsequent revisions to the PUD/DRI.
It is necessary to further amend the PUD in order to clarify the properties that are included and subject to the PUD.
