Item Title:Reject Bid recieved for Bid NC17-012 -James S. Page Governmental Building HVAC Replacement

Background:

Bids were open on June 27, 2017 for the James S. Page Governmental Complex HVAC Replacement. Only One (1) Bid was received from W.W. Gay Mechanical Inc. in the amount of $189,527.00 which is $120,527.00 over the Capital Improvement  Funds approved in 2016-2017. 

It’s been brought to our attention that the project should be engineered to ensure that the CFM of air that is being produced by the systems is properly dispersed in the space that it serves as well as testing and balancing the system to ensure that we are providing the correct balance of outside air, return air and dehumidified supply air.

The original budget figure and scope of work did not include engineering services, department will resubmit the budget figure based on that recommendation.
