Background:
The current Resolution regarding the local State of Emergency expires on September 26, 2017. Due to on-going flooding conditions and damage related to Hurricane Irma, staff requests the State of Emergency to be extended an additional seven (7) days. Per Florida Statute, Chapter 252.38(3)(5), a local state of emergency can only be declared for seven (7) days, but can be extended as needed.
Request:
Approve a Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners extending the State of Emergency in Nassau County, Florida, due to Hurricane Irma.
