Item Title:Resolution RegardingTexting While Driving

Background:
On August 16th, the Board discussed a letter received from the Florida House of Representatives which requested them to adopt a Resolution urging the Florida Legislature to enact legislation that would make texting while driving a primary offense. The Board directed the County Manager to contact the Sheriff, City of Fernandina Beach Police Department, Representative Cord Byrd, and Senator Aaron Bean to find out their views on this issue. The Board discussed their responses at the October 9th meeting and directed staff to bring back a Resolution for the Board's approval at the October 18th meeting. That Resolution is attached.

Continue consideration of a Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of Nassau County, urging the Florida Legislature to enact legislation that would make texting while driving a primary offense.
