Item Title:Agreement for Traffic Control on Private Roads

Background:

The Nassau County Sheriff’s office has forwarded an Agreement for Traffic Control on Private Roads to the County Attorney’s office for review and submittal to the Board for approval.  Florida law (section 316.006(3)(b), Florida Statutes) provides a mechanism for gated subdivisions to request law enforcement traffic control within the community.  The attached agreement is brought forward at the request of the Ocean Village of Summer Beach Community Association and has been coordinated with the Sheriff’s office.  The County Attorney’s office recommends approval.


Request:
Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign the agreement between Ocean Village at Summer Beach Community Association, Nassau County, Florida, and the Nassau County Sheriff's Office, Contract No. CM2490, for traffic control on private roads.

Action Requested and Recommendation:

Request approval of the Agreement for Traffic Control on Private Roads between Ocean Village at Summer Beach Community Association, Nassau County, and the Nassau County Sheriff’s Office (CM 2490) and authorization for the Chairman to sign same subject to receipt of documentation that the signage, markings, and speed limits are in conformance with the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and Florida Department of Transportation rules and regulations and an inspection by the County.
