Item Title:Approval of FDOT LAP Agreement for Safety Improvements on CR 108 from Middle Road to US 17

Background:

Public Works has received the attached Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Local Agency Program (LAP) Agreement for the management of the design phase of updating signage and pavement markings to include audible thermos and friction course on CR 108 from Middle Road to US 17.  FDOT is agreeing to a maximum participation in the project of $41,942.00.  This agreement will reimburse Nassau County for staff time used to manage the consultant which has been procured and will be compensated directly by FDOT.  This agreement anticipates that all work will be completed by December 31, 2019.  We are in compliance with the regulations set forth in the attached agreement.


Request:
Approve the following: 1) a Resolution authorizing the execution of the agreement between the State of Florida Department of Transportation and the Board of County Commissioners of Nassau County, Florida; and 2) authorize the Chairman to sign the Local Agency Program Agreement, Contract No. CM2456, for updating of signage and pavement markings on County Road 108 from Middle Road to US 17.

Authorize the Board to adopt the resolution authorizing the Chair to sign the attached FDOT Local Agency Program Agreement for the management of the design phase of updating signage and pavement markings to include audible thermos and friction course on CR 108 from Middle Road to US 17.
