| | | | | | | | | Background: | The annual Yulee Holiday Festival and Parade is scheduled for Saturday, December 9, 2017. The Yulee Sports Complex has been reserved for the festival. A Temporary Closing of State Road Permit is required by FDOT for closing State Road 200 during the parade. The form has been approved by the Sheriff and is ready for the Chairman's signature. Final approval would be granted by FDOT.
The Yulee Holiday Festival Committee is a group of volunteers and they do not have funds to purchase the $1 million liability insurance as required in accordance with the County's Festival Ordinance. For the last several years, the Board has sponsored the event. All parade participants and vendors at the festival will be required to submit a hold harmless agreement. Additionally, any vendor providing rides and/or bounce houses will be required to provide their own liability insurance for the event. | | Request: | Consider the following: 1) approve sponsoring the 2017 Yulee Holiday Festival and Parade and waive the festival permit fee; and 2) authorize the Chairman to sign the Temporary Closing of State Road Permit, as required by the Florida Department of Transportation.
