The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) is requesting that Nassau County become recertified as a Local Agency Program (LAP) certified organization. A brief description of the LAP Certification is attached. The LAP certification will allow for Nassau County staff to design, construct and oversee projects using Federal funds. The next project FDOT would like the County to oversee is the design of the CR108 Safety Improvements project. The BOCC approved the execution of the LAP agreement with FDOT for the design of safety improvements to CR108 on December 11, 2017 (attached).
The County is required to update and resubmit the FDOT Sub-Recipient Assessment Tool (SCAT) and LAP Certification Tool forms for the recertification. The Board will need to authorize the County Manager to sign the Title VI Nondiscrimination Assurance and to submit the updated Title VI/Nondiscrimination plan and an ADA/504 Transition Plan with the SCAT and LAP certification Tool forms.
