Item Title:Limitation of Load Size Guidance from Board

Background:

At the May 14, 2018 meeting, the Board discussed staff's request to limit the size of loads accepted at the Nassau County Convenience Recycle Center. The current size limit is causing bins to fill too quickly, thus causing additional trips to the Camden County landfill for disposal and an increase in costs for the department. Attached is a copy of May 14th agenda item for informational purposes.

 

After some discussion, the Board directed staff to bring back on June 11th, an new resolution establishing load size limits. The draft resolution for Board consideration is attached, as well as some additional load photos that have been taken.

Request:
Approve a Resolution rescinding Resolution No. 2009-169 and Resolution No. 2010-141 and establishing fees for classifications of waste materials accepted at the Nassau County Convenience Recycle Center.
