| | | | | | | | | Background: | The State of Florida Beach Management Funding Assistance Program requires annual requests for assistance (FDEP Notice attached). SAISSA recommends and requests approval of the attached request to be filed on behalf of the SAISS-MSBU. This Application will be considered by the Florida Legislature during the 2019 session for State assistance in FY2019-2020. The Application must be signed by the County Manager and include in a resolution of support for the Nassau County Board of County Commissioners.
| | Request: | Consider the following: 1) approve the Local Government Funding Request for submission to the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and authorize the Interim County Manager to sign the application; and 2) approve a Resolution demonstrating continuing support for the South Amelia Island Shore Stabilization Project, agreeing to continue serving as the local sponsor of the project, committing to provide the local cost share through the South Amelia Island Shore Stabilization Municipal Benefit Unit; and providing an effective date.
