Item Title:Economic Development Study

Background:

On July 9, 2018, the Board of County Commissioners and the Economic Development Board held a joint meeting to discuss joint approaches with regards to economic development.

 

Following the Joint Meeting, Interim County Manager, Mike Mullin, obtained a copy of Putnam County's Economic Development Strategic Plan and wishes to share it with the Board to see if the there is any desire to conduct have a study done on Nassau County. (copy attached) to develop a strategy to plan for growth and ensure that it is sustainable.

 

Should the Board determine they would like to have this study done, they must also determine a funding mechanism.

Request:
Continue discussion of an Economic Development Strategic Plan and determine potential funding mechanisms.
