At the September 19, 2018 meeting, the County Attorney and Public Works Director notified the Board of drainage issues within Mulberry Landing Subdivision. It was stated that on the recorded plat, the drainage easements are dedicated to the County to allow storm water to flow, however the maintenance of roads and ditches have not been dedicated to the County. Though work in this subdivision has been done previously under different administration, there is no legal obligation for the County to provide maintenance. Additionally, there are residents in this area who have indicated they do not want the County in there working.
Staff is seeking direction from the Board on whether or not they would like staff to try to relieve the drainage issues, or notify the residents that the County cannot work there due to the roads and ditches not being dedicated for maintenance. The discussion was continued to the October 17th meeting. |
