As part of the Road & Bridge Operating Budget, $600,000 was approved for Road & Bridge to upgrade dirt roads with the Double Chip Seal Surface Treatment Program which would include the necessary funding for drainage improvements, base preparation and Double Chip Seal Upgrades. An additional $120,179 was rolled over from Fiscal Year 2018 bringing the total to $720,179. The attached list of roads are recommended to be upgraded this fiscal year and are in recommended priority order (See Tab A): Priorities were determined by 1.) Roads that have been previously upgraded as part of the Dirt Road Stabilization Program needing the surface treatment to preserve the work already accomplished, 2.) Roads that are in need of major drainage improvements, 3.) Eliminating the district grader from the need of going to the island for routine grading and 4.) Eliminating roads from the outer reaches of a district grader route.
