Item Title:Construction Board of Adjustments & Appeals

Background:

The Construction Board of Adjustments & Appeals provides remedy for any disagreements in interpretation of the Building Codes. Any person claiming that the Building Official or Fire Inspector has incorrectly interpreted the Building Code shall file an appeal to the Construction Board of Adjustments & Appeals.

 

The Board is made up of seven (7) members as follows:

  • One member with a background in a fire-related occupation and knowledge of the codes.
  • Three members with background in construction related occupation (general contracting) including sub-contracting (mechanical, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
  • One member with background in engineering/architecture
  • Two members from any occupational background

 

There are currently two vacancies, both of which are for the category of any occupational background.

 

Members serve two year terms and most file financial disclosure. Board members do not receive compensation for their time and/or travel expenses.
