Item Title:Redesignation of Regional Transportation Commission Funds

Background:

The Board of County Commissioners has been paying annual dues to the Regional Transportation Commission for their coordination of transportation needs in Northeast Florida. The Board has been notified that the Regional Transportation Commission will sunset at the end of 2019, therefore, they have returned unused funding in the amount of $16,862. The Regional Transportation Commission has made a request that these funds still be used for transportation and have recommended that the funds be designed to the Council on Aging for their shuttle upgrade.

 

Staff contacted the COA and they have confirmed the need for these funds to assist with purchase of new, expanded technology and/or equipment, including a local match for grant-funded vehicles.
