BOCC AGENDA ITEM

Item Title:Project Citrine Review
Date:4/17/2019
Department:Planning & Economic Opportunity Department
Background:

The Board of County Commissioners and the Nassau County Economic Development Board work with the JAXUSA Partnership (JAXUSA) to support economic development within the Northeast Florida region. Working together, JAXUSA and NCEDB present Nassau County with potential economic development opportunities of businesses and industries looking to site projects in Northeast Florida.

In 2018, Nassau County was identified as a potential project site for Project Citrine, an up to 200 acre corporate headquarters and research and development facility with a public component.

This resolution expresses general support by the BOCC for the Project Citrine concept, and encourages the County’s Planning and Economic Opportunity Department, NCEDB and JAXUSA to continue discussions with the Project Citrine site selection team.

If Nassau County is selected as a finalist site for Project Citrine, the Board of County Commissioners may set a meeting to discuss grant incentives for the project pursuant to local ordinances.
