Item Title:Contracts Specialist New Position Request

Background:
The Office of Management and Budget is seeking approval from the Board to create a new position to support the Contracts management division to ensure effective and timely contract processing. As a result of the recent reorganization, the position that was providing coverage was reallocated to provide admin support to the County Attorney and Assistant County Manager, leaving an unmet need in Contracts Management.  The County Manager has approved the position as part of the reorganization. 
Request:
Approve a new Contract Specialist position in the Office of Management and Budget. 
Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:
Funding for prorated salary and benefits in FY 18/19 will be funded by savings from attrition in OMB.  Recurring salary and benefits will be incorporated into the FY 19/20 budget.
Action Requested and Recommendation:
Approve a new Contract Specialist position in the Office of Management and Budget. 
Is this action consistent with the Nassau County Comprehensive Land Use Plan?

Current year salary savings to be transferred from OMB personal services accounts to Contracts Management.
