Background:

The North Florida Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) is doing the five year update to the North East Florida Regional Long-Range Transportation Plan (the Plan). The plan outlines our region's long-range transportation vision, and considers future projects that our region anticipates to manage today, in 2030, and in 2045. It is a blueprint for the future of North East Florida's transportation system and will seek to address travel needs for the next 20 years as the region grows in population, infrastructure, and employment. This plan gives the North Florida TPO an opportunity to revisit its needs and priorities for future transportation system investments. This plan will also address new federal guidance and current goals and objectives. This plan also can influence transportation policy in the region including what types of projects will be pursued and will be instrumental in supporting the area’s growth.
