Background:
The St Marys River Management Committee (SMRMC) has been reviewing areas along the St Marys River that do not currently have established boating safety zones or speed restrictions. They have identified three areas of concerns along the Nassau County side of the river that have high boating traffic, reduced visibility and maneuverability by vessel operators, and frequent swimmers in the area. The SMRMC is requesting that consideration be made to add additional speed restriction zones in these three areas to increase the safety for boaters and swimmers in these three locations.
