Item Title:Establishment of Four Way Stop at 14th Street and Simmons Road

Background:

The Board of County Commissioners approved a Work Authorization (CM2500-WA03) in May 2019 for CPH, Inc., to conduct a safety study evaluation at South 14th Street and Simmons Road.

 

The study has been received and finds that a signal or roundabout is warranted at this intersection.  Staff would like the Board to consider authorizing a four way stop at this intersection until design and construction improvements at the intersection can be made. 

 


Request:
Approve a Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of Nassau County, Florida, relating to the establishment of a four way stop at the intersection of 14th Street and Simmons Road in Fernandina Beach, Florida, providing for findings by the Board of County Commissioners; providing for placement of "stop" signs; providing for penalties; and providing for an effective date.

Action Requested and Recommendation:

Approve the establishment of a four way stop at the intersection of 14th Street and Simmons Road, and authorize the Chairman to sign the resolution authorizing the STOP signs to be placed.
