Item Title:Approve and Execute the Agreement for Traffic Control on Private Roads (Tupelo Plantation Owners Association)(CM2800)

Background:
Pursuant to Florida Statute, Nassau County does not have traffic control jurisdiction over private roads such as those in Tupelo Plantation Owners Association.  Section 316.006(3)(b), Florida Statutes provides that a county may exercise jurisdiction over private roads if the county and the party owning such roads provide for county traffic control jurisdiction by a written agreement approved by the governing board of the county.  Tupelo Plantation Owners Association wants the County to exercise traffic control jurisdiction over the Tupelo Plantation roadways.  Pursuant to consultations between the parties, the County and the Sheriff are willing to exercise traffic control jurisdiction upon the Tupelo Plantation roadways.
Request:
Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign an agreement between the Board of County Commissioners, the Nassau County Sheriff's Office and the Tupelo Plantation Homeowner's Association, Inc., for traffic control of private roads. (Contract No. CM2800)
