The Nassau County Planning Department is responsible for implementing the community's quality-of-life vision and creating a sustainable community that promotes economic opportunity, protection of natural resources, and social equity in the interest of the health, safety, and welfare of the public.
The team is charged with providing quality customer service and information about the policies, procedures and rules governing the use of property, development, and construction in the unincorporated areas of the County. During the Covid crisis, the Department is in the process of identifying and assessing internal control procedures to better assist the public.
The Nassau County Development Guidebook was prepared by Planning Department staff as a means to provide residents, business owners, and land developers a framework to guide them through the process of developing land in Nassau County. |
