BOCC AGENDA ITEM

Item Title:Set Public Hearing to Amend the Impact Fee Ordinance and Repealing and Replacing Fire Rescue, Law Enforcement and Administrative Facilities Impact Fees
Date:6/3/2020
Department:County Manager's Office
Background:

On March 28, 2016, Ordinance 2016-02, known as the "Nassau County Comprehensive Impact Fee Ordinance" was adopted.  It has become necessary to amend Appendix E to the Nassau County Code of Ordinances Entitled Comprehensive Impact Fee Ordinance specifically repealing and replacing Article III - Fire Rescue Impact Fees, Article IV - Law Enforcement Impact Fees and Article V - Administrative Facilities Impact Fees.  On or about February 11, 2019, staff was directed to proceed with an independent study of the current impact fee rates for Fire Rescue, Law Enforcement and Administrative Facilities.  Staff then engaged Tischler Bise to perform the study. The study has been completed and a final report has been received from Tischler Bise.

An agenda item to set the hearing was originally scheduled for April 27, 2020, then continued to May 21, 2020 and finally continued again to July 16, 2020.  We are asking to set the hearing for July 16, 2020 instead of waiting until that time to schedule a future hearing date.
