Item Title:Fire Rescue Metal Building Bid No# NC 20-014 Request to Reject Bids.

Background:

On June 2, 2020 the Fire Rescue Metal Building Invitation to Bid (ITB); Bid No. NC20-014 were open.  Eleven (11) bids were received; all bids were over the amount budgeted for the project.  In an effort to ensure the citizens of Nassau County receive the best price for the project, Staff would like to revise the scope of work and re-advertise the Invitation to Bid.  Facilities Maintenance believes the county can obtain a better value.  Attached is the Invitation to Bid Opening results. 

Base bids were received as follows:

Core Construction Company: $122,000.00

KBT Contracting Corporation: $156,490.00

Walker Design and Construction Company: $371,700.00

Dunmar Group, Inc.: $184,551.00

Burt Wright Construction: $151,200.00

DC Davis Construction: $147,000.00

Harrell Construction: $185,433.00

Baker Construction Services, LLC.: $130,000.00

Arkest LLC.: $216,945.97

C.C. Borden Construction, Inc.: $160,563.00

Thomas May Construction: $185,000.00

 

 

Request:
Consider the following: 1) Reject all bids received in response to Bid No. NC20-014 for Fire Rescue Metal Building; 2) approve and authorize staff to submit a revised scope of work and re-advertise the Invitation to Bid for the Fire Rescue Metal Building.
