| | | | | | | | | Background: | FDEP Agreement 19NA3 will provide up to $319, 667 to reimburse the SAISS MSBU for non-Federal local cost to replace sand lost as result of the 2017 Hurricane Irma. This grant award is the result of special program created by the Florida Legislature in 2018 to reimburse local governments for the non-federal local share.
| | Request: | Approve and authorize the Chairman to sign an agreement with the State of Florida, Department of Environmental Protection, Contract No. CM2932, for the South Amelia Island Hurricane Irma Recovery Project. Funding Source: SAISSA.
| | Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens: | This agreement provides a State Cost-sharing Grant of up to $319,667. This grant is designed to pay 100% of the non-Federal local share of replacing beach/dune sand losses because of Hurricane Irma. This agreement will potentially save the assessment payers up to $319,667. No Nassau County ad valorem tax dollars are spent on the project.
