Item Title:Presentation of Amelia Island Parkway and Buccaneer Trail Intersection Analysis

Background:

At the direction of the Board of County Commissioners, Engineering Services staff has analyzed the intersection of Amelia Island Parkway and Buccaneer Trail with consideration for increasing overall efficiency and safety.  Staff will present their findings, identifying the most effective configuration, resulting in decreased delay and queuing on Buccaneer Trail. 

 

The presentation will include the analysis process that was used, and the ultimate determination that was made for a roundabout as the most effective, efficient, and safe intersection control alternative.

Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:

Total costs have not yet been determined, but will include Consultant Engineer Design, Construction Engineering Inspection, and Construction.  Funds are included in the Capital Improvement Plan beginning in FY 21/22.
