Item Title:Consideration of Agreement with JEA for Maintenance of Utility Improvements and Authorization for the County Engineer to Sign the Dedication

Background:

As part of the Nassau Crossing Community Park in the William Burgess Overlay District, JEA requires Nassau County to sign an “intent to construct and dedicate”  the infrastructure for water and sewer improvements to JEA for ownership and maintenance after the construction is completed and accepted.  These improvements will be constructed at the Southeast corner of Harts Road and William Burgess.  The infrastructure dedicated upon completion is only for the improvements made within the
William Burgess/Harts Road Right of Way.


Request:

Approve the Application to Construct and Dedicate Water & Sewer Facilities as required by JEA and authorize the County Engineer to sign the intention of dedication agreement on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners.

Financial/Economic Impact to Future Years Budgeting Process or Effect on Citizens:

The water and sewer improvements along William Burgess and at the Nassau Crossing Community Park provide new infrastructure to the citizens of Nassau County as well as additional recreational opportunities. The construction of this infrastructure will be performed by the developer of Nassau Crossing in accordance with existing development agreements.  When completed, maintenance of JEA dedicated facilities will be the responsibility of JEA.

Action Requested and Recommendation:

Approve the Application to Construct and Dedicate Water & Sewer Facilities as required by JEA and authorize the County Engineer to sign the intention of dedication agreement on behalf of the Board of County Commissioners.
